rar! i hate it when i go rent a movie from Blockbuster or somewhere and about halfway through it the dvd starts skipping and i can't finish the movie. that happened earlier today when i was watching The Green Mile and i just wanted to throw something at the stupid Tv or something. dunno but i wasn't happy. and usually i don't get pissed off too easy. or maybe i just keep all my anger bottled up and then explode over something stupid like this. but damn it i want to finish the movie! so i called blockbuster and wouldn't you know it that's the only copy they had. they didn't have it at the other video store either. so i'll have to find it somewhere else. but why can't people just take care of stuff when they use it! rar!
aaaah i'm tired and my brain hurts and just...yeah...

I suppose if you do rent the DVDs, you don't know who's had them before, so its possible the DVDs have scratches on them so the player gets stuck during a certain part of the film. It's happened with one of mty DVDs. I don't rent them either, I buy them when I'm out shopping or I'm online.

I agree, or I've seen where they will skip clear back to a spot you already seen and it just keeps doing that over and over.

but if you buy the movie, and you don't like it, didn't you waste your money then?

Well yes, but I always watch the movie either at the pictures or at home on TV first to make absolutely sure I want to go out and buy the DVD.

If you buy the dvd, can't you get a refund?

Post 10 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Tuesday, 14-Aug-2007 6:49:02

I think most stores don't take it back if you open the package. If you can't get a refund, then you could just swap the one that's defected and out of the shrink-wrap for a new one. They're the same price, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

One time I bought a movie from the store and tried to watch it but it skipped so bad that I took it back and it was a used copy. I got a new copy witch still works.

I never had that problem. However, I have a nickname for Blockbuster:
Ballbuster.
